"Singles Together"

    Singles of all varieties are invited to join our "Singles Together" activities.  Whether you are Divorced, Widowed, Single by Choice, or Never Married, you are welcome to join us. 

    The center of our ministry with and for singles is Divorce Recovery.  We extend a helping hand to folks who are grieving over the loss of a loving relationship.  Divorce is a shattering experience, especially for those who have been left, and for their children.  A new group is offered about every six months and the basis for discussion and reflection is the book, REBUILDING, by Bruce Fisher.  The study meets weekly and lasts for 18 weeks, facilitated by Rev. Marlene Peterson. 

    Often after divorce and/or separation, the person suffers from loneliness and depression.  Therefore, in order to help the newly single person get back into society, many group activities are offered: dances, bowling, game nights, movies, exercise, "talk-it-overs" for all singles, a singles worship service, a widows breakfast, a class called "Loving Choices", and after-church lunches at a local restaurant.  Many new friendships are formed, some that last a lifetime. 

    We encourage developing new friendships, but suggest no dating for a year after divorce and no marriage for three years.  This gives us time to learn how to be a whole person, take a look at past relationships and perhaps develop new goals and talents.  For more info, call Rev.
