Music Ministries

     "I will sing and make melody to the Lord."

   The Music ministries at First UMC offer a variety of experiences, designed to enhance worship for both the participants and the congregation.  Anyone is welcome to become a part of this ministry.  During the summer months there are special music presentations by individuals, musicians, etc.  Most of the music ministry groups do not rehearse during the summer.  

Children's Praise is a vocal and instrumental group for children in kindergarten through grade 5.  They play Orff instruments and handchimes, as well as sing for the 10:45am service on the third Sunday of each month.  They rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:00 PM.

Praise Singers is a vocal choir for grades 4-7. They rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 - 7:00 PM. They will sing for the 10:45 AM service on the second Sunday of the month.

The Brass Ensemble is under the direction of Cheryl Graham. This group plays for special services throughout the year.

Prime Chimes is a bell choir for high school through age ??.  The ability to read music is a prerequisite for this group.  They rehearse on Thursday evenings from 6:30-7:45 PM.  Robert Wallace is the director of this group.  Find out more from the Prime Chimes webpages.  

Chancel Choir is open to adults of high school age through age ??.  This group rehearses on Wednesday evening from 7:15-8:45pm.  They sing regularly at the 10:45am service on Sundays.
